So, what is "The Equinox Challenge"?
The Equinox Challenge is the ultimate test of skill, strategy and navigation whilst being hunted down by a hunter force of Explorer Scouts!
Troops can enter teams of between 4 and 7 Scouts, who must be aged between 10.5 and 14.5 on the day of the Challenge.
Each team will be given a map where various posts will be located, each team will need to plot a route visiting as many posts as possible with 4 hour, and each post is worth a differing amount of points depending on its location. The winning team is quite simply the team with the most points.
By the way, did we mention the hunter force of Explorer Scouts whose sole role is to disrupt the progress of the Scouts and then deduct points from them? If caught, the team will lose the points from the last post visited - just hope it wasn't the 100 point letter box!
And, once it's all over, there will be refreshments at the finishing point - we can't think of a better reason to finish!
There will be a trophy for the overall challenge winner, along with a few runners-up and prizes, and every participant will receive a badge for their uniform or camp blanket. |
